Seems there’s a law for everything here in Brazil. Where you can walk your dogs. When you can put out your trash. When you can drive or not drive your car. How much you must pay your in-house help, including a 13th month bonus at Christmastime. Why you can’t discriminate against anyone based on gender, race, or ethnicity. All good laws. All necessary, perhaps. But this, pictured above, is my current favorite.
Translated: Notice to Passengers: Before entering the elevator, make sure it is standing on this floor. (Law #9.502)
I wonder what they did prior to March 11, 1997, when this law was enacted. Did they just fall into elevator shafts willy-nilly? Thank goodness someone had the presence of mind to act preemptively!
